Update on Mortgage News

After the lowest mortgage rates in decades were recorded, applications ended up falling 4.4% last week reports The Mortgage Bankers Association. Also refinancing home loans dropped 5.9%.   Mortgage rates hit a low last week, but  the average for a 30-year fixed loan went up to 4.69% from 4.59% from last week and the 15-year fixed loan adjusted up from 4.05% to 4.12% after last week as well.   The low rates began in mid-april after European debt terrors have given initiative to buy US Treasury bonds, which has lowered the yield on Treasury’s.  We’ll continue to update you all on future rates!

Boston’s downtown condo sales continues its sucess! It is up 30% in the second quarter of this year.  Last year between April and June there were only 653 condos sold, this year between those same times it has jetted up to 849!   There was a 9% increase is condo sales in luxury buildings, which help set the median of condo sales to $665,000, which is also a jump.  45 Province Street has seen 6 P&S’s signed in the last two months, which is a great sign becasue of how poorly they have been doing since the opening.  Its good to see a rise in condo sales, it definitely remains a buyers market and hopefully more buildings that were struggling will start to see an increase.  For more information or to buy a condo please contact Epapa27@yahoo.com
