The renting process is fairly simple on both ends.
1. Meet up with an agent ie. a friendly realestateboston agent. Where you will fill out an information card on what you are looking for… Price, Location, Size, Amenities…
2. Look at apartments – Showing Process
3. Take the apartment off the market – Once you have found an apartment you like in most cases landlord or management company will want a full application (RHA Application filled out), and one months rent to take that apartment off the market. This one months rent is refundable if you are denied the apartment.
4. Interview – once application is approved some landlords would like to have an interview with you.
5. Approved – Once approved for apartment there is more paperwork. Co-signer form (if applicable) or Proof of Employment and other addendum’s that management company or landlord may require.
6. Lease and Move In – From there you are given a lease to sign. Lastly before you can move into apartment most landlords require first, last and security in hand. In some cases first and security will do the trick.
