Three Important Tips when Buying a new Home in this Market
1. Ask Questions
Its important to ask plenty of questions when you’re looking at a potential future home. The sellers and agents should be prepared and if not then remember to follow up with them. Some examples of good questions would be asking about how old the hot water heater is or when the roof and windows were replaced. Its important to know these things to avoid future problems. Also, find out if there was any recent renovations to the property and make sure all services have been signed off and paid! Keep active and stay on top of all questions you want answered!
2. New Isn’t Always Better
Buying a BRAND new home can be big money! Sometimes it isn’t worth the risk! New homes have not been tested and will take time to work the kinks out. A seasoned home has been lived in and has been weather tested, which is important. Its nice to know what you’re getting into when you’re buying a home.
3. Understand the Market
Take time to understand the current market for similar properties that have sold over the last 6 months. Also check out comparable prices of other properties currently still for sale. It’ll be beneficial to know the market conditions.
