Mass Housing Market Recovering!

May was a huge month in the Massachusetts Housing Market! Home buyers in Massachusetts feel that its a good time to buy right now, with a mix of first time home buyers tax credit and mortgage rates falling below 5% sparked some confidence amongst home buyers! 3,716 single family homes were sold in May, which is almost 1,000 more than last year in Massachusetts, which keeps the streak alive, with 11 straight consecutive months of increased sales. Prices have even risen, as the average price went up to $298,500 from $285,000 from last year. Single families aren’t the only homes that are on the rise, condo sales went up as well! A total of 1,610 condos moved in May, which is up from 1.275 last year.  Boston single families and condo’s are drastically up since last May as well.  Phew. Finally, the market is stabalizing!  Lets hope this is only the beginning of permanent change in the market!
